ASHTANGA YOGA SHALA
NØRRE ALLE 70E
8000 AARHUS C
We are very excited about coming back to share this workshop with you again at the Ashtanga Yoga Shala. As you know, we had to postpone the event last March due to the COVID-19 situation, thank you so much for your understanding and support waiting all of this time for a new date. We will follow all of the recommendations from our government and keep the group small for your convenience and safety.
We are ready for it now, and we hope that you are too!😉
In this workshop Rosa and Gry will share with us what fascia is and how we can help ourselves to minimise or even eliminate pain, increase flexibility and walk out of this workshop feeling more soft, light and more open.
This workshop is for everyone, including people with none or very limited yoga experience so please feel free to invite friends and family even if they are not yoga practitioners or studio members. All you really need is an open mind to try something new, a yoga mat -we have mats at the studio in case you don’t have one- and comfortable clothes. We will provide a 100% natural, high density, non toxic and eco friendly set of two balls specially designed for this purpose (included in the price)
In the first part of the workshop Gry will walk us through the fundamentals of TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) to help us understand the connection of things like: The theory of Qi, Meridians and the Five Elements, and how this affect our daily life and emotions. She will also explain the connection between fascia and meridians.
No, don’t you worry, we won’t sit down with a notebook like in a class room and take notes, we will keep the focus on the practice because we know that practicing is where you will receive the maximum benefits!
After some theory and Q&A, Rosa will teach us how to use myofascial release massage balls (a set of 2 balls is included on the price) to access and release the tight spots and restricted areas in your body. The main focus is to learn how to do a self-massage following the meridians to ease pain and discomfort. Get ready for some funny faces as we slowly open up and go deeper and deeper into the layers of our skin and explore the benefits of releasing tension we don’t even know we have accumulated in our bodies. Trust me yogis, after this workshop, your yoga postures will never be same, this self-massage technique using the balls will allow you to get more flexibility, release pain and discomfort and it will open up your body even more.
We will finish the workshop with some gentle Yin Yoga stretches, just “the cherry on the top”, you know?
Get ready to fall in love with this new thing in your life!

Rosa Montiel was born and raised in her beloved Mexico and moved to the USA when she was 20 years old. She has made cities such San Francisco and Seattle her home, working as Operations Manager for the Hilton Hotels and has been traveling around the world teaching yoga since 2013. Her experience in yoga, pranayama, reiki, cooking and life is immense!
When she was…
Over the years she has realized that yoga is more than the practice of asana and has discovered the benefits and powers of a consistent practice both on and off the mat. On several occasions she witnesses how yoga has guided her through both turbulent and joyous times of her life.
At age 51, her philosophy is very simple, Rosa believes that through yoga we have the opportunity to step out of our comfort zone and open our hearts, eliminate unnecessary suffering and be able to love more. Rosa teaches from a place of gratitude and joy, her classes are focus more on quality, no quantity on the movement/breath connection. She always invites students to create value for themselves, find their own path of self-discovery but without taking everything so seriously so they can enjoy the present moment. Rosa’s mantra is “life is about the journey and not the destination”.
She is very grateful to have the honor and privilege to have studied many different types of yoga with several amazing teachers in various parts of the world, this of course, includes all of her students. “Each class I lead there is always a moment when every student is leading me”.
