Which membership type should I choose?

Read about our various forms of  and recommendations here

Do you do discounts?

We offer discounts to students, and the more you practice, the cheaper it gets per time. You can choose from a Monthly Membership, Class Pass or Single Class.

How good should I be before I start / how flexible should I be?

Everyone can start at Ashtanga Yoga, no matter how old you are and how good you are. When practicing yoga, it’s not about competition, it’s a personal training. If you have any injuries that you believe may limit your ability to practice Ashtanga Yoga, please inform the instructors before you start, for the right guidance.

How often should I train?

Practice as much as you have time for. The more you practice the greater the benefit, but the most important thing is to practice regularly. To get the best results, we recommend practising at least 2 times a week, but it is ok just to come once a week if you have the time.

Do I have to commit to a specific class or can I change a bit?

You can freely switch between teams. Remember to book online.

What should I wear?

Bring clothes that can be moved in, but not too loose.

Should I bring something (What about yoga mats)?

We have yoga mats for beginners. If you exercise regularly, we recommend, not least for your own well-being, that you train on your own mat. Mats and blankets especially suitable for Ashtanga Yoga can be purchased in the Shala.

When should I be there?

Show up 10 minutes before class starts, if this is your first time, get in touch with the teacher. (Remember to tell about any injuries or anything else that the teacher might need to know)

How long is a teaching hour?

Beginning hours / improvers is 1.5 hours including 10 minutes of relaxation. Mysore / self practice classes are longer, depending on how far you have come with the series.

Can I come at other times?

You may flex freely between Classes. Remember to book online.

I can see that the beginners courses have already started, can I still join? What does it cost then?
Yes, then you choose a Montly Membership or Class Pass. → See Prices
Do you have to drink water while you are teaching?
You should avoid drinking water during  practice as this cools the body, but it is important to drink plenty of fluid during the day. You lose more fluid, through sweat and respiration (breathing), during practice than you just expect. At the same time, the body begins to purge toxins and waste, which requires fluid to be flushed out of the body.
What is Mysore style?
Mysore is a city in South India where now deceased K. Pattabhi Jois had his yoga school. There he taught for over 60 years and has refined and further developed this form of yoga. The school is now run by his grandsons Sri R. Sharath and Saraswathi. The yoga students go through the series at their own pace and get individual guidance from the
instructors. It is a very exciting way to practice, but if you are moving on from led classes  takes 3-4 times before you get used to it
Can you eat before class?
Avoid eating a big meal 3 hours before class starts and a light meal 2 hours before class starts. It is ok to take a piece of fruit, however, at least half an hour before the start of teaching.
Can I continue to exercise if I get pregnant?
Ashtanga Yoga is really good when you are pregnant. It helps keep the body healthy and strong. You work with breathing and increase body awareness and concentration, which is a good birth preparation. However, you should already have started Ashtanga Yoga before you become pregnant. Beginners are recommended to take on a special class for pregnant women. It is advised that ashtanga practitioners pause the first trimester. Training can resume in the second and third semesters, however, with modifications. Always remember to inform your instructor that you are pregnant.
Do you have classes in English?

Yes, you may join the class even if you don’t understand Danish. Our instructor will either teach you in English or switch between Danish and English so you understand. If you don`t have any prior experience to Ashtanga Yoga then we recommend that you start on a beginner class e.g Monday or wednesday at 18.45. Please write to us for a free trial class then we can explain the timetable and prices to you when you visit us.
